Fringe-dwelling folkie, singer and writer Barnaby Smith will soon be making his debut. It's
an eclectic 15-track album that was created in a rickety garden shed in the hills behind Mullumbimby, NSW, titled Itch Factor.
The finished work is now due for physical release on March 6th. Under the alias Brigadoon, Barnaby composed and recorded these pieces for over four
years. He also fended off snakes, spiders, lizards and creepy things while channelling artists like Amen Dunes, Daniel Johnston, and Tim Buckley.
After growing up in the Hawkesbury, Barnaby recently moved to the Blue Mountains in the hopes of infusing his experimental and mysterious persona into more tracks for future releases. In its essence, Itch Factor is a product of the untamed and solitary side of rural Australia, bearing songs that could easily fade into dry bushland, existing for the sake of one man's freedom. However, this inspired music is sure to find a following in other similar souls who wander, reflect and philosophise like Barnaby. Whether you're drawn to its rustic guitar tones, ethereal melodies, or expansive atmosphere, the Itch Factor can get under your skin with ease.
