The Parramatta music festival returned this Summer with the objective of providing a much needed platform for new and emerging Aussie talent, as well as housing local food producers, brewers, craft and clothing designers. Drew Parker was there...
With amazing performances all round and an abundance of talented Aussies smashing it out on stage, The Plot definitely achieved this objective. With honourable mentions to the one woman band Tash Sultana who brings so much passion and energy to the stage. Tash had everyone roaring when she played Jungle.
The Pierce Brothers I hadn’t heard before, but found myself kicking up dirt with the rest of the crowd. The Melbourne folk duo laid down some absolute bangers! Indian Summer drew a massive portion of the festival in, when they played their awesome single Jai Wolf.
Montaigne had the entire crowd moving with songs off her album Glorious Heights. Allday, well I could listen to Allday all day. It’s safe to say the line up was killer.
After sinking a few pale ales and sampling some great music my stomach began talking to me. I managed to pull myself away from the many stages finding myself at a small food van advertising a “kombi burger”. Knowing that festivals always slap on a extra buck, the $10, 500g beef burger didn’t sound half bad. Again another massive tick!
The atmosphere was buzzing, communal and welcoming and I often found myself chatting to complete strangers like I had known them my whole life. The Plot gets one massive happy thumbs up from this man, I will definitely be heading back next year… See you there?
