After a few months spent igniting stages for local and international acts and nabbing a HAZE cover feature two issue ago, Red Bee’s second full-length LP, Silent Enemy, lives up to the hype in spades. Coming from a truly unique presence in the Australian metal scene, Silent Enemy is a throughly enjoyable and dynamic album, crammed with surprising twists, superb musicianship and the powerful, broadly Australian vocals of Dan Silk. Whilst not a release for the faint of heart, Red Bee balances beauty with their immense chaos through a heartfelt feel for uplifting rock choruses and ambient clean passages. Standout tracks include ‘Autumn Blood Horizon’, a masterclass in sheer heaviness, lead single ‘Dead Inside’ and the title track, all proving enjoyable for prog, djent and hard rock listeners. Genres aside, if one is simply keen to experience the power of a cutting-edge group of local performers,The HAZE Mag strongly recommends this album. Horns up!
