ARIA winners, My Friend The Chocolate Cake (MFTCC) are back on tour, to celebrate the launch of their 8th studio album, ‘The Revival Meeting’. The musical group will be performing at ‘The Hub’ on Aug 11th at 8pm.
My Friend The Chocolate Cake’s music is a sure concert draw with the song writing genius of David Bridie combined with the glorious strings of Helen Mountfort’s cello and Hope Csutoros on the violin. Each band member brings their own curious infusion of elements into the music.
Founded in 1989, MFTCC has won three ARIA awards and had their music used worldwide in countless films and TV soundtracks.
Their seventh-album ‘History’ received high acclaim for its multi-dimensional insights into modern Australia. History illustrates our national geography, political mores and our now predominantly suburban identity in a kind of stealth way that makes the most haunting and enduring pop music.
Be at The Hub to witness the birth of the 8th Studio album 'THE REVIVAL MEETING'.
"This album is a work of art, ... this is their best and their most accomplished album to date." - Spill Magazine
"Abounds with beauty and life" – Sunday Herald Sun
"Beautiful, creative, sorrowful, masterful music by a bunch of lovely people...Front man David Bridie cut a wry and sardonic figure, slagging off Kerri-Anne Kennerley, quoting Barry Humphries...it's a well-known fact that those who truly know excellent Australian music when they see it all support the Cake. The band certainly justified their cult following with this excellent performance – right from opening number MFTCC commanded a rapt and reverent hush from the heaving crowd. You could have heard a pin drop throughout the whole song." – Live review
