Local Bands to Battle for New York Trip - blog post image

Local Bands to Battle for New York Trip

Hard Rock Cafe Sydney are fired up to support up-and-coming local talent with its Battle of the Bands competition, as part of a global search for top new bands, solo artists, musicians, DJ’s and MC’s worldwide. The competition will give local artists a chance for glory and opportunity in droves, as finalists will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City to perform at Hard Rock Cafe New York, $15,000 cash and performance time in front of top music industry executives. Hard Rock Cafe Sydney will accept band submissions for its global battle until Saturday February 9th, 2019. The Sydney event will take place on April 4th, with the New York finals taking place in June.

Local artists are invited to submit their entry now through open registration. Each band selected for Hard Rock’s Battle of the Bands competition will perform at the Hard Rock cafe in Sydney, in front of fans and local judges who’ve made their own mark on the industry. Following the live performances, two regional winners from each of the six regional locations around the world (including Sydney) will be selected, receiving a prize of $1,000 and moving on to the next round of the competition, where the public will be encouraged to vote for their favourite global artist from the selection of finalists online.

The three bands with the largest number of votes will become finalists and take the stage at Hard Rock Cafe New York, the iconic former Paramount Theatre in the heart of Times Square. Finalists will receive an all-expenses paid trip to New York City, a $15,000 cash prize and the chance to perform for top record label executives. For any Sydney musician with big dreams, this is the perfect way to try to make it to the top.
