Inland Sea Of Sound Announces 2018 Line Up - featuring The Cat Empire, Deborah Conway and more

The much-anticipated Inland Sea of Sound festival is back bigger than ever with Bathurst’s iconic Wahluu-Mount Panorama set to play host to the two-day music and arts festival from 30th November – 1 st December 2018.

Headlining this year’s line-up will be The Cat Empire, one of the world’s best festival bands, known for delivering highly energetic, spectacular live shows that get audiences out of their seat and dancing. They will be joined by renowned rock-music-royalty and stalwart of the Australian music industry Deborah Conway.

Now in its eighth year, Inland Sea of Sound began with small concerts in private backyards and has evolved into an iconic celebration attracting thousands of music and art lovers. The festival brings together the best-established music acts from around the country with home-grown local talent spanning a wide range of genres including classic and alternate rock, folk, jazz, electronic and more.

Mayor of Bathurst, Graeme Hanger OAM, said Bathurst is proud to help support the development of the Australian arts community through events like Inland Sea of Sound.

“The festival provides emerging local artists with a platform to showcase their work as well as the opportunity to perform alongside national talent. It also gives visitors a taste of contemporary Bathurst and the diverse range of experiences available in the area.”

Regional artists will adorn Wahluu-Mount Panorama with interactive art installations while local food producers and artisans from the region will bring a taste of Bathurst to the festival. Expect gourmet food trucks offering a wide variety of sweet and savoury options created using fresh produce, which can be perfectly paired with a glass of wine or beer from Bathurst’s local wineries and brewery.

Stephen Champion, Inland Sea of Sound’s event curator, said he is thrilled to announce the line-up for Inland Sea of Sound which has become a signature event on Australia’s festival calendar.

“Inland Sea of Sound is the quintessential summer festival and fuses together music, art, culture and food into an extravaganza on areas of Wahluu-Mount Panorama usually inaccessible to the public, making it a truly unique experience for music and art aficionados alike.”

Early bird tickets are on sale from $46 for concession or $66 for an adult until 31 August 2018. Regular tickets start from $52 for concession, $72 for an adult or $115 for a full weekend adult pass. Children aged 12 and under are free. A free shuttle will take visitors from the Bathurst CBD to and from the festival, or on-site camping is available with prices ranging from $25 per night or $40 for two nights.
