Kaki King (USA) brings her mind-blowing show all the way to Springwood in August. Provocative and moving, surprising and beautiful, The Neck Is A Bridge To The Body is Kaki King at her visionary best: deconstructing and redefining the role of solo instrumental artist through virtuoso technique, insatiable imagination, and boundless humanity. This multi-media performance uses projection mapping to present the guitar as an ontological tabula rasa in a creation myth unlike any other, where luminous visions of genesis and death, textures and skins, are cast onto an Ovation Acoustic guitar customised specifically for this production. “More than anything the process of creating this music has proven to me once again that the guitar really does the speaking, and I'm just the interpreter," says Kaki King. The tour debuted at Brooklyn’s BRIC Theatre in New York City in 2014, and is touring extensively worldwide, including the Blue Mountains on 18 August at Blue Mountains Theatre.
