Blue Mountains based alternative rock band ‘The Marquis’ has just released their debut music video for their single ‘De La Luna’.
De La Luna has a real crisp edge that is reminiscent of times in the 80’s and 90’s where bands like The Smiths, Joy Division, Pixies and The Stone Roses swept the airwaves with their blissful new wave infusions of the post-punk and Britpop genres. The Marquis are proud that their post-punk influences from the 80’s and 90’s can be heard in their music while still having their unique qualities in the studio and stage heard.
Like fellow Australian band 'DMA’s' (founded 2012), The Marquis is a breath of fresh air in the ever-evolving post-punk genre. The band may use some old school tricks and licks but their upbeat tempos and vocal arrangements give their music a reflective and contemporary feel that will be a source of inspiration to today’s new generation of post-punk.
Post video release of De La Luna, The Marquis are looking forward to continuing work towards the release of their debut E.P.
