Darley’s retains hat!

Darley’s Restaurant (Echo Point) has retained its Good Food Guide Awards ‘hat’ for a 10th year. It is the only restaurant to be donned with the honourable hat in the Blue Mountains.

The coveted status was made all the more prestigious this year after the state honours were broadened to a national awards for the first time.

One of only four hatted restaurants in the Central West region (hats were also awarded to Lolli Redini at Orange, Tonic at Millthorpe and The Zin House at Mudgee), Darley’s achieved an outstanding 15/20 marks.

Darley’s Restaurant at the 5-star Lilianfels Resort & Spa is owned by Escarpment Group, which also owns the neighbouring Echoes Boutique Hotel & Restaurant, Parklands Country Gardens & Lodges at Blackheath and the Hydro Majestic Hotel at Medlow Bath.

Escarpment Group General Manager Ralf Bruegger says: "Darley’s success is the collective work of all its executive chefs, kitchen staff and wait teams throughout many years.

"Of course, Darley’s consistently serves outstanding food but it is the whole experience – from the moment guests are greeted at the door to when they are farewelled after their meal, the beverage list, the décor and location – that makes this restaurant exceptional."

The multi award-winning Darley’s Restaurant offers innovative contemporary Australian cuisine showcasing fresh seasonal produce sourced within a 100-mile radius wherever possible and served as a la carte or degustation menus. With views across the historic formal English gardens and the Jamison Valley escarpment in the background, the former home of sixth Chief Justice of NSW Sir Frederick Darley has recently been sumptuously refurbished.

As well as the Good Food Guide Awards hat, Darley’s Restaurant was inducted into the Australian Hotels Association Hall of Fame for Best Regional Restaurant in 2010 and won the Tourism Accommodation Association NSW Awards for Excellence Regional Restaurant of the Year for 2013 and 2016. Then executive chef Lee Kwiez was named TAA (NSW) Chef of the Year in 2015.

Darley’s Restaurant is open from 6pm to 10.30pm Tuesday to Saturday and from 6pm to 10pm Sundays (long weekends only). (Minimum 3 course dinner applies for Saturday nights and public holidays). A set $125 per person price for three courses applies on weekends and public holidays.

Bookings essential: (02) 4780 1200 or reservations@lilianfels.com.au.
