Eye the eerie in the ‘Ethereal’ exhibition

Light, airy and at times tenuous: enter an ethereal world of artistic imagination. From Nov 2nd-13th, Rex-Livingston Art + Objects will be presenting ‘Ethereal’ — a compelling print, assemblage and photography exhibition from the works of local artists Tracy Ponich and Jan Melville.

While Tracy and Jan both use different forms of media and style, each artists’ work is constructed around the dramatic undertones of ethereally.

As a photographer Tracy plays with earth’s intermittent atmospheric conditions in her works: preferring to use sporadic glimpses of light through trees, or moments of mist or rain in an image to evoke an unnerving sense mood to landscapes and streetscapes.

By contrast as a printmaker/assemblage artist, Jan prefers to drag elements from the outside world into the studio, either in reference or by actual object. The handmade prints, create something odd and otherworldly — a form of mythology straight from Jan’s very own mind.

‘Ethereal’ by Tracy Ponich & Jan Melville

Viewing November 2nd to 13th, at Rex-Livingston Art + Objects (Katoomba).

* On Sat November 4, there will be a special opening between 2/4pm.
