Join Quentin Dempster at a public forum for some thought provoking discussion and one last look at Richard Goodwin's exhibition - Navigator. Located at the Penrith Regional Gallery & The Lewers Bequest, the exhibition brings together select artworks, models and maquettes produced over the past 25 years from Goodwin’s series’, Ulysses, Drone Dorje, Mystic Alien, Parasite and Porosity.
As an architect, artist, author and the Professor of Sculpture at UNSW Art and Design, Goodwin’s practice has long concerned architecture and technology, habitable and inhabitable space, machines and the human form. Goodwin describes his work as "existing between public and private space".
The Navigator exhibition will be used for open discussion on regional development, the built environment and the roles culture and quality of life has on urban design and planning for Western Sydney.
The panel will be led by Walkley Award-winning journalist, author and broadcaster Quentin Dempster AM best known for his decades of work with the ABC. Panelists Richard Goodwin, Emma Husar MP, Assistant General Manager of Penrith City Council Craig Butler and Chairman of Penrith Performing & Visual Arts the Hon Peter Anderson AM, will discuss their thoughts on our relationship with our local built environment. This will be followed by audience question and answer time.
Come along and take one last look at the Gallery's Winter Exhibition Suite, featuring the work of artist and architect Richard Goodwin. Light refreshments will be served.
