Now that Lawson has gone 'up market', nobody wants to see horrid halfpipe. Lawson Skate Park (pictured) was given a street-art treatment by Scott Nagy (Krimsone), bringing some chill escarpment depth to the concrete playland.
Rumour has it that funding was provided to pretty-up the pipe as well as extend some of the landing concrete area. Personally I still find it an awkwardly designed park, but with the Lawson Mechanics Institute Hall now revamped as well perhaps some youth engagement is on the horizon.
